General
Command and Staff
College Quetta boasts of almost a century of academic excellence. As a seat of military learning, it has been given the mandate to train the officers
for grade two appointments in formations/GHQ. The College right from its inception has tried to keep pace with the latest developments in the
teaching methodology and administrative procedures. In order to institutionalize the standards of excellence achieved by the College, it was
decided to get ISO certification in the year 2002.
The process commenced in July 2002 when the GHQ approval for the
certification was secured and was completed in July 2003 on receipt of the
ISO- 9001 certificate from a well reputed international certification body
Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA).
Aim
The aim of this certification is to benefit from global quality management
system with a view to improving the quality management system of the College
in design and provision of war fighting education.
Scope
This certification encompasses all activities which directly or indirectly
have a bearing on curricular, extra curricular and administrative pursuits
at the College.
Objectives
The College plans to achieve following objectives through ISO Certification:-
Make all curricular activities more focused.
Improve the process and system.
Document all procedures and activities to have inbuilt checks and balances.
Ensure that regular improvement in quality management is built into the system.
Achieve greater transparency and clear assigning of duties where required.
Enhance international recognition.
Quality Policy
The Command and Staff College is committed to reassess the curricular
related activities with a view to optimizing the learning environment to
achieve an optimal user satisfaction and institute mechanism for a
continuous improvement of curricular system, support services and procedures
of the College.

Certification Process
The stepwise methodology adopted for the acquisition is given below:
Preliminary System Analysis. A study of existing system was under-taken and preliminary analysis was done to find the existing status of quality management system of the College in the light of ISO 9001:2000 standard in June 2002.
General Headquarters Approval. General Headquarters approval for the process of ISO certification was secured vide Inspector General Training and Evaluation Branch Military Training Directorate, General Headquarters letter number 6803/7/MT-7 of 11 July 2002.
Quality Management System (QMS) Coordinator. A quality management system (QMS) coordinator was appointed as project Officer to lead the QMS programme in June 2002.
QMS Steering Committee. A steering committee comprising 7-10 members form various departments/branches was appointed to work under the direction and guidance of QMS Consultant in August 2002.
Training of Personnel. Five days training was organised by the consultant at the College premises in October 2002.
Quality Management System Design and Documentation. A quality document for College was prepared after an extensive session of discussions in June 2003.
Internal Quality Audits. Four officers were given a comprehensive training by the consultant to conduct the internal audit of the branches to evaluate the designed system with the ISO 9001 standard requirement in June 2003.
Pre Assessment Audit. A certified lead auditor was requested to perform a pre assessment audit of C&SC quality system and remove any non conformity before the organization could go for final certification in June 2003.
Certification Audit. Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance approved ISO 9001 : 2000 certification of the College in July 2003.
